I'm not happy with a review I received. What are my options?
One of the risks with using any ARC service, not just BookSirens, is that not every review will be to your liking.
When you come across such a review, you have a few options:
- Modify your promotion so future readers must request your book and get approved by you before they can get your ARC. This way, you can see their prior reviews (if any) before approving or declining their request, and you have complete control over who can get your ARC. To learn more, click here.
- Report the review. If multiple authors report reviews by the same reader, we remove that reader from our community, so review quality remains high over time.
- Block the reader so they cannot download any of your other / future ARCs. If multiple authors block the same reader, we remove that reader from our community, so review quality remains high over time.
- Temporarily pause the promotion or stop the promotion permanently.
It is also worth noting that if the review is < 3 stars, the reader may sometimes refrain from posting the review publicly on platforms like Amazon, Goodreads, or BookBub. And, the review you see on BookSirens is only visible to you. If they've posted the review on other platforms, you will see a link to their review.
Note: We cannot ask readers to change or remove reviews. That breaks Amazon and Goodreads terms and conditions which forbid influencing reviews. Doing so will put our entire operation at risk, which thousands of authors rely upon. Thank you for understanding.
