Can I try out BookSirens before committing to the Author Plan?
Yes. We recommend you promote your first ARC under the Promote Plan. If you're happy with the uptake, switch to the Author Plan. When you switch, we'll subtract how much you already spent for your first ARC from the Author Plan yearly fee.
Lets walk through an example...
Say you're considering the Author Plan for your Dorothy Gale pen name. You promote your first ARC by Dorothy Gale via the Promote Plan like we recommend. After spending $40, you decide you want to upgrade to the Author Plan. Your cost to upgrade will be $60—$100 minus the $40 you already spent.
Once you're on the Author Plan, you can promote unlimited ARCs under that pen name for the rest of the year at no additional cost. Your previous promotions also get automatically roped into the Author Plan.
Just make sure that future book submissions meet our acceptance criteria.
If you any questions, feel free to email us.
Why do we recommend this approach?
The situation we want to avoid is that an author spends $100 upfront for the Author Plan and are underwhelmed by the results.
We cannot guarantee nor predict how many reviews you will yield on BookSirens—How many readers can I expect for my first ARC on BookSirens?
The Promote Plan is a less riskier way to test whether your books will resonate on BookSirens.
