When am I billed?
Promote Plan
We bill you a nominal listing fee of $10 in the beginning when we accept your book to the Promote plan.
We next bill you $2 / reader when any of the following three things happen:
- 10 or more readers download your books since the last bill.
- A month or more has passed since the last bill.
We bill you for the number of readers who downloaded your books since the last bill.
- You pause / remove a book or set the remaining reader spots to zero.
We bill you for the number of readers who downloaded your books since the last bill.
If a reader downloads the same book multiple times, we only bill you for that reader once. While most readers will follow through on their review commitments (site-wide review rate of ~75%), some may not due to technical issues or life circumstances. In these circumstances, we award you reader credits to help ensure you are only investing in readers who ultimately help you.
The benefit of a pay-as-you-go billing model like ours is that you have more control over your spending. You can pause and resume the promotion at any time to prevent and allow more readers to download your books, respectively. Once a book is paused, you won't incur any more bills for that book.
Different authors also have different budgets, and we want to accommodate that. We recommend setting the right number of reader spots based on your budget. For example, lets say your budget for the promotion is $50. The listing fee is $10, leaving $40. Therefore, you should have 20 reader spots, so maximum 20 readers can download your book. You can increase and decrease the number of reader spots whenever you wish.
Author Plan
The Author Plan is a yearly subscription of $100 / year. You are billed once every year if you wish to keep the subscription.
